A Quote from Martin Luther

November 16, 2006

“The foolishness of man’s heart is so great that when the law has done its office and terrified his conscience, he does not lay hold upon the doctrine of grace, but seeks more laws to satisfy and quiet his conscience. ‘If I live,’ says he, ‘I will amend my life. I will do this and that.’ But unless you send Moses away with his law, and in these terrors lay hold upon Christ, who died for your sins, there is no salvation for you.”
