Blog Theme Song

August 12, 2006

Something silly for a Saturday– If I knew how to get a tune playing when you came to my blog it would play “As the Deer” to which you could sing these words…

As a dog returns to its vomit, so our flesh longeth after sin.

Sin alone is our fleshly desire so we must kick its face in.

You wanna write the chorus?

These new words remind me of you song from the Old Testament about what could and could not be eaten. How did that one go again?

well, do you want it to be

    a dirge?
why must junk have such appeal?
why must the old-man strive with so much zeal?

Mortification is by the Word wield’
Then spread mine enemies ashes afield

I’ll try to come up w/ more. we’ll see. :)

Sin will eat and purge and eat…
the reeking pile is its tasty treat…
Sin alone is our fleshly desire so let all kick it face in!

sin had its butt kicked years ago,
it doesn’t ever want you to know…
Sin always was a big fat liar so lets all kick its face in!

God is our sweet and savory feast…
Sin’s food is question’bl to say the least…
Sin is a bloated party-crasher so lets all kick its face in!

I vote (18 months later) for Egana’s disgusting version.

And the song that I wrote in Mexico City referred to by rickswife was called “Unclean for You” and it was a musical setting of Leviticus 11.
